The Theatre of Egypt, or more commonly known as ‘Masrah Masr’ is a series of comedy plays with a different story each play, which are not related to the previous ones. Ashraf AbdelBaky put together a team of new, young actors, and with the help of a team of writers, a director, and stage managers, the team presents a new play every two weeks at the theatre at the Grand Nile Tower in Garden City, Cairo. The plays reference a lot of current events and Egyptian pop culture, keeping it relevant and alive. Also relying on the actors' improvisational skills, it leaves each play surprising, new, and different. The last live performance was on the 30th of November, 2019.
