To date, Ashraf AbdelBaky has performed in 18 plays (not counting the 120 plays of Masrah Masr), directed 49 plays, and produced 125 plays in his theatre career. As for his career on screen, he has acted in a total of 65 movies, 32 television series (including the beloved ‘Ragel W Sitt Settat’ which ran for 10 seasons with over 300 episodes), and presented 10 talk shows, ending with the successful and delightful ‘Qahwet Ashraf’. AbdelBaky has a love for performing and creating art to move people, and make people laugh. He especially enjoys working on comedies, since he believes that people need a break from the dramas of life. Starting out as a young kid in Hadayek el Kobba, his parents disapproved of his aspiration to become an actor, but AbdelBaky stayed persistent for years. After seeing him perform on stage one night, his older brother became convinced of his dream and proceeded to convince his parents until they came around and began supporting him as well.
